Read Notes With the USB Cable
The following guide is for the Luminex II, Luminex, Diamante, and Wave writers. Make sure the computer and writer are on and the USB cable is connected before reading notes.
From Manage Jobs click Function, Read Notes (Alt-u, r). The Read Setup dialog box displays.
In Read Setup, set the Device to your corresponding writer. Set the Method to USB, and confirm the Drive/Path is set to Data SD Card
When finished selecting options, click OK. The Read [File Selection] dialog box displays with the following information. You can sort by clicking on a column heading. The default sorting is the newest file first.

Do any of the following:
Highlight a single file to read.
Highlight multiple files by holding the Ctrl key as you click files with the mouse.
Highlight consecutive files by clicking the first file, then holding Shift and clicking the last file.
Select all files by pressing Ctrl + a.
In the Destination section at the bottom of the dialog box, select Read Notes.

Next choose either Individually or All-In-One.
Individually - Read each selected file, along with the audio file if audio exists, into individual files, each with their own file name.
All-In-One - Read multiple files into one file. To read an audio file with a steno note file, you must select Individual. If you select multiple files that have an associated audio file, the following message displays: When reading All in One, audio files will not be read with the steno.

The Read [Name and Save] dialog box displays.
If you would like to place the steno notes into a particular Case, double-click the Case name. You can also examine the steno file, along with the timestamps on the right side. Finally type in a file name in the File name: box and click OK.
Read Notes With a SD Card Reader
The following guide is for the Luminex II, Luminex, and Diamante writers. Make sure the computer is on and the Data SD card is plugged into an SD card reader.
Windows will automatically assign a drive letter to the SD card, usually drive D: or E:. Make a note of this drive letter as you will need it.
From Manage Jobs click Function, Read Notes (Alt-u, r). The Read Setup dialog box displays.
In Read Setup, set the Device to your corresponding writer. Set the Method to Disk Drive, and confirm the Drive/Path is set to the drive letter Windows assigned to the SD card.
When finished selecting options, click OK. The Read [File Selection] dialog box displays with the following information. You can sort by clicking on a column heading. The default sorting is the newest file first.
