Create a Backup MP3 file using Open Broadcaster Software (Initial Setup)
Note: Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) is not a Stenograph product and support for its use is limited.
Download and Install Open Broadcasting Software(OBS) via the Official Website: https://obsproject.com
Open the OBS software from the icon on your deskop.

In the Sources box in the lower left side, remove any default sources in the box by clicking on each source and clicking the Trash Can icon at the bottom of the box.

In the Sources box, click the + to create a new source -> Audio Input Capture. In the new window that comes up Select Create New and name this Virtual Audio and click OK.

In the Properties for "Virtual Audio" dialog, click the Device drop down and choose, Stenograph Virtual Audio 1 Output then click OK.
You should be back to the main screen. On the right side click Settings.
In the Settings dialog, click Output on the left side.
On the right side, at the top, Click the drop down next to Output Mode and select Advanced. Now click the Recording tab under Output Mode.

In the Recording options, change Type to Custom Output (FFMPEG). Change the Container Format to MP3, and change Video Encoder to Disable Encoder. Set the File path or URL to the location you would like the backups saved to. Click OK.
Back in the Main Window, confirm both Mic/Aux and Virtual Audio are not muted in the Audio mixer by clicking the on
for each audio source. (If the icon appears as
, the device is not muted.) Mute the Desktop Audio option in the Audio Mixer list.

Click Start Recording to start the recording of the Audio Backup. The file will be saved to the folder specified in the previous Step.
NOTE: The changes you made in steps 1-10 will be saved so you will not need to do them again. You can click Start Recording to begin recording.
