The EasyLock Z12 tripod as lightweight but strong stand for your Diamante or Wave writer. If you would like to use a different tripod like the EasyLock LMX-V2 Tripod or Tripod LMX II - Tall Tripod, you will need to remove the bottom plate from the writer.  This guide will show you how. You will need a Phllips screwdriver to remove the plate.

NOTE:  The following instructions are only for Diamante and Wave writers and are not for any other steno machine.

  1. Place the writer on a solid surface like a table and turn the writer over. You will notice, in the center, the tripod plate with four screws attached to it.

  2. Take a Phillips screwdriver and unscrew all four screws. Once all four screws are removed, the bottom plate can be easily removed.

  3. Now attach the other tripod to the writer. If you attach the EasyLock Z12 tripod without the bottom plate attached, the writer will not tilt. You will need to reattach the bottom plate in order to restore the tilt.
